Based out of Vancouver, Selina Whittaker’s photography has a strong documentary edge. She has traveled extensively in Asia, working on several projects that focus on portraiture and spontaneity. Her candid approach also translates well to wedding photography, as she consistently demonstrates a unique ability to visually capture the essence of the day.

Selina’s most recent project documents the East Hastings area of Vancouver, a neighborhood known for its drug problem and pervasive homelessness. She approaches this project as more than an interested witness, interacting with her subjects to create an atmosphere of trust that resonates in her photographs.

Selina graduated from Sheridan College with a degree in photography. She has been published in Spacing and WTF magazines and has had work displayed in art shows and galleries in Toronto.
